We shoot most cake smash sessions at our HSR Layout studio, though home setups can be arranged too. Birthdays don't move, so book a couple of weeks ahead where you can.

What age is best for cake smash photography?
Most families book it around the first birthday, but it isn't a strict rule — we've shot these for older toddlers too if they're up for it.
Is the cake provided, or do we bring our own?
Most families order from their usual baker and bring it along. If you'd rather we arrange it, tell us in advance and we'll add it to the quote.
Can parents be included in the photographs?
Yes. A few parent-and-baby frames alongside the solo cake smash shots usually make the final gallery feel more complete.
Can we choose our own theme and colours?
Yes. Tell us your preferred colours, decorations or outfit, and we'll build the backdrop and props around it.
What should my baby wear?
Whatever suits your theme for the portraits beforehand, plus something comfortable and easy to clean for the smash itself. Keep a second outfit ready if you want clean after-shots too.
What if my baby does not want to smash the cake?
Completely normal, and not a problem. Some babies dive straight in, others just look at it and lose interest — either way we still get portraits, expressions, and the details around the cake without forcing a reaction.
Can the session be done outdoors?
It can, depending on the location and weather. Most families prefer the studio though, since it's easier to control lighting, mess and clean-up in one place.
