Family photography in Bangalore that doesn't feel like a school photo

Three generations, one frame, everyone looking at the camera at roughly the same time. Studio backdrop or on location, your call.

What We Shoot Around

A few posed sets, then we let people talk to each other

We start with the formal group portrait everyone actually wants for the wall or the album. After that, we shoot candidly — siblings needling each other, grandparents holding the youngest one, the moments that happen once people stop posing.

What the gallery usually includes
  • One clean formal portrait with everyone looking at camera
  • Smaller group breakouts by family unit
  • A few solo portraits of grandparents and kids
  • Candid frames once people relax and stop posing
What's Included

Everyone covered in one booking

01

Studio backdrop or an outdoor location

Our HSR Layout studio for a clean formal set, or a park, garden or your own home if you'd rather have a natural backdrop.

02

Outfit colour guidance, if you want it

We can suggest a palette that photographs well together without everyone showing up in the same shirt.

03

Group and individual portraits together

Full family, each nuclear unit, and a few solo portraits, all in one session instead of separate bookings.

Sessions We Shoot Most Often

Pick whichever fits your family

Studio family portraits

Controlled lighting and a plain backdrop, best for a formal frame that goes on the wall or in an album.

At-home sessions

Shot in your own house so the space itself, not just the people, becomes part of the memory.

Multi-generation portraits

Grandparents, parents and kids together, planned around whoever's harder to get moving.

NRI reunion sessions

Booked around a short visit home, when everyone's finally in the same city at once.

Anniversary family shoots

A milestone anniversary photographed with the whole family present, not just the couple.

How a Family Session Works

From the formal shot to everyone relaxing

01

A short call beforehand

We ask about headcount, ages, mobility and outfit colours so we can plan the setup before anyone arrives.

02

The full group portrait

We get everyone together for the main formal frame first, while patience and hairstyles are both still intact.

03

Breakout portraits

Each nuclear family, grandparents together, and a few solo portraits, shot in smaller, faster sets.

04

Candid coverage

Once the posed sets are done, we keep shooting as people talk, laugh and stop paying attention to the camera.

05

Wrap-up

A last check with you before we close the session, in case there's one combination we haven't covered yet.

Getting Ready for the Session

Outfits and a few things to bring

Choosing outfits

  • Pick two or three colours the whole family can draw from
  • Avoid large logos or busy prints, they pull focus in a group shot
  • Coordinated works better than identical
  • Solid colours photograph more consistently than patterns

What to bring along

  • A change of clothes for younger kids if the session runs long
  • Water and snacks, especially for elderly family members
  • Any props that matter to your family — an instrument, a pet, a family heirloom
  • A little extra time in case someone's running late
Studio or On Location?

How most families end up deciding

If the portrait is going on a wall or an anniversary album, the studio usually wins — the lighting is consistent and there's nothing in the background to distract from the people. If the location itself means something, a childhood home, a garden that's about to be sold, we'll shoot there instead and work around whatever light we get.

  • Studio: consistent lighting, no weather to plan around
  • Location: the setting becomes part of the story
  • Either way, the group and individual portraits are covered the same way

Frequently Asked Questions About Family Photography in Bangalore

Before you book

How many people can you fit into one session?

We've shot groups of fifteen or more. Tell us the headcount in advance so we can plan the setup, seating and lighting for that many people.

Do our outfits need to match?

No. A coordinated colour palette works better on camera than everyone in identical outfits. If you're stuck on colours, send us a photo of what you're considering and we'll tell you what will and won't work together.

Can grandparents who aren't very mobile still be included?

Yes. Tell us beforehand and we'll plan seating and positioning around it instead of asking anyone to stand around waiting for their turn.

Studio or on location — which should we pick?

Studio if you want a clean, controlled portrait for the wall or an album cover. On location if the setting itself matters to your family, like a home you're leaving or a garden everyone grew up in.

Can we do individual and family portraits in the same booking?

Yes, that's the default. We usually shoot the full group first, then break into smaller units and a few solo portraits before everyone's patience runs out.

What if a young child won't cooperate for a formal portrait?

We get the formal shot done fast while attention spans last, then let the rest of the session go candid. Some of the better family photographs happen after the posed shot is already in the bag.

How far in advance should we book?

Two to three weeks is usually enough, but if you're coordinating flights for relatives visiting from out of town, book as soon as the dates are fixed.

Do you travel outside Bengaluru for family sessions?

Yes, for locations within a couple of hours' drive. Mention the location when you enquire and we'll work out travel separately.

Ready to book a date?

Tell us how many people and your preferred location.
